South Bay Music Awards

The Historic Hermosa Beach Playhouse plays host to the third annual South Bay Music Awards, which continues its quest to celebrate some of the best independent music in Southern California.

Hosted by television personality Todd Torok, the show will include celebrity guests and presenters, including former female wrestler Chyna, as well as live performances from local musicians.

Sexy siren and independent music sensation Brandy Moss-Scott is scheduled to sing the title track from her newly released album "Lollipop." Jared Berry-Zuhila, a 2007 "American Idol" contestant, also is slated to perform, as is Lakewood band Neverwonder (pictured).

Award nominees include, among others, Teddy Lee Hooker, nephew of bluesman John Lee Hooker, and Los Angeles underground hip-hop artist Medusa.
